Engineered Coastal Foundations
Zero Compromise on Steel & Base
We never cut corners on base compaction or rebar spacing. Our concrete flatwork is engineered to withstand South Texas clay movement and heavy load stress.
Laser Screeded & Cured to SpecWhy Our Concrete Outlasts The Competition
The difference between lasting concrete and cracking concrete comes down to what's beneath the surface.
Steel Rebar Grids, Never Chicken Wire
We tie #3 and #4 grade-60 steel rebar grids supported by plastic chairs so the steel stays centered in the slab where it provides true tensile strength.
Sub-Base Compaction & Laser Leveling
Settling happens when the ground isn't prepared. We mechanically compact aggregate base material and laser-check grades to ensure perfect water runoff.
Frequently Asked Concrete Questions
Answers regarding slab curing, cracking prevention, driveway thickness, and financing.
What concrete projects do you pour in the Texas Coastal Bend?
We pour everything from monolithic and reinforced foundation slabs for homes, garages, and workshops to heavy-duty vehicle driveways, custom backyard patios, walkways, pool surrounds, and repair or leveling of existing concrete.
How do you prevent concrete from cracking in South Texas coastal soil?
Coastal Bend soil has high clay content that expands and contracts with moisture. We prevent cracking by compacting a stable aggregate sub-base, installing moisture vapor barriers, laying a tied steel rebar grid (not cheap wire mesh), using high-strength 3,500-4,000 PSI mixes, and cutting precise control expansion joints.
How thick should a concrete driveway or parking pad be?
A standard residential passenger vehicle driveway is poured at 4 inches with steel rebar. For heavy-duty use—such as heavy diesel trucks, boat trailers, RV parking pads, or commercial delivery bays—we pour 5 to 6 inches with thickened edge footers.
Do you offer financing for concrete driveways and slabs?
Yes, Coastal Roofing and Construction provides 100% in-house financing directly through ourselves with flexible payment options tailored to your project budget.
